Khawarizmi University Technical College Holds a National Stakeholders Meeting to Develop the Dual Vocational Education and Training Program (PJDVET)
Khawarizmi University Technical College held a national stakeholders meeting on Sunday, May 18, 2025, within the framework of the Erasmus+ project aimed at developing the Dual Vocational Education and Training (PJDVET) model.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohammad Qadomi, President of the Board of Directors, Mr. Sultan Qadomi, Vice President of the Board of Directors, and Ms. Suzan Qadomi, Executive Director of the College, along with representatives from official entities and both the public and private sectors.
The meeting aimed to discuss the mechanism for developing the dual diploma program, review the progress achieved within the PJDVET project, introduce the German Dual VET model, analyze the current state of vocational education in Jordan, discuss accreditation and quality assurance standards, clarify stakeholder roles in supporting the program, and identify the proposed pilot specializations.
The meeting was attended by:
- Prof. Ahmad Abu Al-Haija – Director of the Erasmus+ National Office
- Ms. Noura Yousef – Head of Accreditation for Public Colleges, Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission
- Eng. Ahlam Al-Qudah – Head of Accreditation for Private Colleges, Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission
- Dr. Nariman Abu Aqleen – Director of the Training and Entrepreneurship Academy, Amman Chamber of Commerce
- Eng. Fadel Al-Labadi – Director of the Industrial Development Department, Amman Chamber of Industry
- Ms. Suzan Qadomi – Executive Director, Khawarizmi University Technical College
- Mr. Sultan Qadomi – Vice President of the Board of Directors
- Mr. Ahmad Qadomi – Director of Business Development and International Relations
The meeting included a comprehensive presentation highlighting the project framework and emphasizing the importance of aligning vocational and technical education outcomes with labor market needs, as well as strengthening partnerships between educational institutions and the private sector to enhance youth employability and graduate readiness.
Participants stressed the importance of institutional coordination among relevant stakeholders. The Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission confirmed its readiness to provide the accreditation framework for Dual VET programs, while the Amman Chamber of Commerce and the Amman Chamber of Industry expressed their willingness to support the program by engaging the private sector and facilitating practical training opportunities for students.
The meeting concluded with a recommendation to launch two pilot programs in the first phase:
- Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Maintenance
- Artificial Intelligence–Based Design (AI Design)
These pilot programs were selected to align with labor market demands and ensure high-quality education and training in accordance with approved accreditation standards.
This meeting reflects the ongoing efforts of Khawarizmi University Technical College, its Board of Directors, and Executive Management to develop vocational and technical education and establish a sustainable national model for dual vocational education and training, in cooperation with local and international partners.
